This is a very easy simple simple straightforward approach and is not a grievous commandment but a joy to work on and even unskilled in arts crafts and crafting can do this. Just go through the process and it will improve your skills. This method is not based on traditions of men, but is essentially a Karaite method, or, in other words, it is based purely on the written Law / Torah and several Bible scriptures. Please don't attack people for how nice or fancy their fringes look on the outside, as God looks at the heart and sees the love for him in obeying his commandments to the best of their ability.
How to keep and fulfill the commandment of God:
“Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:” Numbers 15:38
3-chord Tzitzit based upon the fact that:
"...a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12
Tzitzit length of about twelve (12) inches is based on the idea of ten (10) men being able to hold onto the four (4) tassels that are to be attached to and worn by one (1) Jew:
“Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.” Zechariah 8:23
Jesus is a Jew and wore the tassels or fringes or tzitzit, and the hem or fringe of his garments brought healing:
“And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.” Matthew 14:36
“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.” Malachi 4:2
Sanctification and being Holy is a commandment by God and it involves our outward appearance, and this makes us look different, a peculiar people:
“And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;” Deuteronomy 26:18
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” 1 Peter 2:9
“For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.” Deuteronomy 14:2
“Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.” Leviticus 20:7
The purpose and reason for the tassel/fringe/tzitzit is to help us be holy and more sanctified, to not sin and help us remember to do all of his commandments and to be holy:
“That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.” Numbers 15:40
"And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning." 1 John 2:3-7
Jesus said:
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:" Matthew 7:21-24
"Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing." Matthew 24:46
