This week on The Horti-Culturalists, Suckering Thugs! Yes! Stephen LOVES a suckering thug so this week we'll look at two plants that have suckering habits and learn the three key things you need to bear in mind when thinking about them for the garden, but the ultimate question, as Stephen says: is it going to be worth it!? The two plants we're looking at certainly are and both come from genera that have members that give the whole group a bad rap! Rubus lineatus, a member of the raspberry family grown for its sensational foliage, and Rhus glabra 'Laciniata', again grown for its fabulous summer and autumn foliage which Stephen treats as a perennial by cutting down each winter.
