Weight of the bin is a big consideration for me because I do all my worm farming from a mobility scooter. Thanks for bringing up this topic. ~ Sandra

Hi Nana! I had no idea! That's really awesome that you can still do worm farming! Nothing should hold people back from having a hobby worm farm!

Gret video topic. Not many people talk about this. I believe it's 40-45 lbs per cu.ft of vermicompost on average (~6.5 dry gallons/~7.5 gallons)

HI Veni, Thank you for watching and you kind words for the video and your helpful comment. It's true, I get a ton of comments asking how heavy my bins are and I think there is some confusion around how to control the weight of the worm bins. It's always nice to try to get as many people into worm farming as we can, it's great hobby and great for the environment. :)

I know I’m a little late, but I was just wondering if old oaten hey would work well for work bedding, covered with a carpet. I see worms in our garden all the time, it’s also cover with about 5-10 inches high in fully oaten hay. Sorry this was long but I love the videos, keep it up!

I would say that would be fine, as long as the carpet isn't leeching any chemicals in the bin slowly should be fine.

Great tips!! My VermiHut gets pretty heavy when I have multiple trays on it, so I've been running it a little drier. Excellent video!!🪱🪱🪱
