Finely zone focusing is make sense to me. I had tried it so many times, but always end up using my auto focus again. Cause I never understood how to do it. Now that I start using analog camera I need to master zone focusing. So thank you very much for making this video.

Question: if everything is pre set already for zone focusing, how do you adjust exposure? ( use only shutter speed? I use M6 ) thank you 🙏🏼

Hi Eric! Thank you for the Explanation. To be honest, would you explain it like this in 2021?! And who is your Audience?! Beginners like me or People, who are comfort with manual Focussing. When it comes to Zones, it need a lot of Practice to estimate them. When you do do train it, you will fail or feel that it is like fishing blind. - Please help me with your Experience! What is a good Approach to learn this Stuff?! Cheers Helmut

Wat. If you don't know what those numbers on the lens mean, you probably need to go back and reevaluate your passion for photography.

Once autofocus was put into every camera you would ever see from that point on, those numbers were simply never printed on the lens barrel. There is a whole generation of photographers who have never ever looked through a manual lens.

My wife took photography in college and just gave me her Minolta x700, great slr. She didn’t know what the numbers meant and she was TAUGHT IN COLLEGE. So it’s possible people don’t know. Now I’m a high-school drop out, but I knew lol.

nope... with the stupid barking dog, chirping birds, the wind and what sounds like a TV in the background, the random focus.. this video is pretty unwatchable.

I don't think you quite understand what your saying, to scale focus you have to move the lens distance scale to match up with the fixed aperture scale on the left for a given aperture, so f8 has to line up with f8 on the fixed scale, then read from left to right on the fixed scale and you have your distance of focus between the two f8 lines on the fixed aperture scale
