I actually have better cooling with the shroud in most hondas the biggest issue has been not enough surface area one of the reasons I run a vw rad tucked as far forward as I can with a air dam

Shrouds with flaps is what you need; closed when your idling in traffic or at slow speed, the force of the air at speed pushes the flaps open, increasing your air flow. Promoting the removal of shrouds is irresponsible.

Will say the shroud is nice when it’s 95° outside and your staging at autocross.

If your car overheats on idle with "only" 90% of the cooler surface cooled by the fan, I think you need to check your math.

@@Catrik bro doesn’t know how airflow over a exchanger is needed to pull heat out of a system When your fan only covers the middle of your radiator it forces all the cooling in one spot and is inefficient. Throw any older car in stand still traffic with ac on and it will eventually overcome the capacity of your system.

Yep, good to remove on a race car, very bad to remove on your daily driver.
