Helpful tip. Please do a follow up video on various ways to get good texture mapping that matches the mountains built in this method.

I do know this method but i also recall, i think it was still in Maya 2015, that i was using some other way to extrude/modify the plane with the heigtmap. I think it was done using some trick in node editor but i cant find that old project to see what was i up to. I remember i was doing multiple "extrusions" to increase the height of the mountain range. Or maybe it was some sort of a mesh modifier. But i guess the brush tool is good as well (and since its possible tontrol the strenght its better than multiple extrusions etc)

any way to create an specific part from an reel mountain to get zoom in inside; i try to recreate in 3d an island call " reunion island" but it look to complexe ... X)

Yes 1.Take a 2d shot of the mountain range in Google maps 2. Make it black and white in photoshop 3. Use it as shown in this video
