Drilling the prop this way will make the prop unbalanced. By with a regular drill will make the hole no longer precisely center as manufactured therefore it will cause vibration. It will work but I'm sure the vibration is there. You might not feel it but it's there. The correct way to drill the pro and keep the hole centered is to have it lathe mill or professionally drilled by a machine shop.

I agree, this was mainly just for fun, and as light as these props are, I don't think it be much of an issue

So what's the prop you ultimately think best for 55lb-86lb thrust motors? *My sisuation's a bit different. I'll be using one 55lb and one 86lb trolling motor (vevor and newport) on my 27 foot sailboat. The sailboat runs great off a 4hp gas motor, so i suspect it'll do just fine with this combo. But want to make sure to get the right props for the job. So which size prop ended up working out best for you?

Hey. Can't find this prop in Europe. Just the shipment cost almost 30 usd. How did it go with APC, did you guys develop a prop without having to drill? Best regards from Sweden

I have one to test but haven't gotten an chance, as of now I highly recommend the 10X5m-lh prop for 30-55lb motors, works great and is made for trolling motors so it's already drilled out

@@codyakfishing8856 Thanks for the quick reply! I really hope they get those in the European Amazon. Otherwise I'll have to pay import taxes etc. Would be cheaper for me to get the original prop 😅 I'll keep a eye out for your next review!

For a 55lb Minn Kota, what is the Amp Draw difference between the 10-5 vs 10-7? Is the speed difference appreciable enough to justify the higher current? Do you find the lower pitch 10-5 more efficient than the stock OEM prop? Thank you for your work and video! Cheers

@@SaltWaterBassTv no the 10X5m-LH should be a direct fit, as long as the shaft is 3/8 in diameter, and thanks, I wanted to head out today to test some more props but there's a bug going around and I can't shake it....lol
@SaltWaterBassTv

Why do this if there's ones that are a direct fit?

This is mainly for those who want to try different diameters and pitch, since there's only a few that are a direct fit as of now
