"Step 7: Check if the battery fits in the frame" - this should be step 1!

Excellent video. I just received my Hailong today. Mine had mounting slots in the aluminum heat sink that line up very well with my existing bottle mount holes. Do I still need to add mounting holes in the upper part of the battery mount?

Your call mate. But according to me, the more the merrier. You don't want your battery to rip off your bike frame at high speeds or bumpy roads!
@DiabloManiacz
Жыл бұрын
Few tips for installers: 1) don't install battery as high as in the video, try to get it closer to the bottom bracket for MUCH improved balance 2) don't drill holes to bike frame unless you sure you won't ever be selling it... zipties or pipe clamps will hold the battery just as well without destroying the value of your bike.

1. Agreed. But i had to mount it a bit up so that it can leave some space for the controller. 2. Agreed. Drilling holes in your frame does compromise a bit of strength of the frame. Try to avoid it unless necessary.

Sorry for the late reply. I am unable to understand your question. You are asking about the dock on which the battery goes? Or the XT-60 connectors?

I have the same battery, but a small frame on my Giant XTC, so I have went with the triangular frame bag, waiting on it coming tomorrow. I saw a few videos were the rider had an off and the battery struck a hard object and ripped those riv nuts clean out the frame.

Bro, what is bike weight before and after conversion? I found that heavy bike is exhausting to pedal.
@HyperMakes
Жыл бұрын
Yes, all the parts at least 10 Kg of extra weight to the bike, the battery being the most heavy. I am now used to riding that weight so i can't notice that now.

What is this modification of which you speak
@HyperMakes
3 жыл бұрын
I think you are talking about this part of video 7:07 . I am talking about the red switch that is in the battery case. First I wired it in series with battery and controller but later I was warned by some good fellow redditors that the switch normally can't handle that much amps can blow out due to bottleneck of current. So, for the fix/modification I just shorted the switch with thicc wire to bypass the switch. Check out this instructable for more info www.instructables.com/DIY-E-bike-Battery-Assembling-48V-Hailong-Battery/
