Tried this with plastic knife. Started trying to flip a little quicker and poked myself in the stomach. Decided it was time to take a break and try again another time. Glad it was just a plastic knife! Cool trick though.

Important to note that if you're in a combat scenario, you should only ever do this to intimidate someone with no training. The best way to win is to avoid the fight. Lead with intimidation. A bit of flash can override his initial fight response and activate his fear response. But if the other guy knows what he's doing, don't waste time with stuff like this. Just defend yourself if you're being attacked and then de-escalate the situation ASAP.

@williamshelton5209

Yeah I mean, Ill give you a pass and wont roast you, but this is for fidgeting. Practice to increase your dexterity with a knife. I say Ill give you a pass because there are plenty of stupid people who may do exactly what you warned against. My motto? Fuck the fancy shit. If you pull a knife out on someone you better be ready to use it because the other mother fucker is. Im the other mother fucker. You pull a knife on me and try some fancy shit Ill stab you in the neck and laugh at your stupid face. (Not you, just speaking generically. Based on your comment you appear to have too much common sense for such a fate to befall you) DONT PULL A KNIFE UNLESS YOURE READY TO TAKE A LIFE. Keep your weapon away even if someone pulls a blade on you. Allow them to believe youre unarmed and they have control of the situation. Beg for your life if need be, and once their guard is down and falsely believe they have the power, pounce. Threat eliminated as soon as theyre dumb enough to drop their defenses

I used to do a similar flip with pens when I was in high school. I tried doing your flip and my muscle memory kind of took over. I have to unlearn my pen flip instincts but I managed to flip it your way a few times. The slo-mo really helps learn the motions. It's almost mandatory to include slo-mo on flip tutorials because gravity tends to mess with the knife's motion if you go too slow. Thanks for uploading this, there's nothing I can say you can improve on with this video.

I think I've figured it out. When the knife is in between the index and middle finger, the knife should be parallel to the ground, with the blade pointed up. Then push your thumb into the back of the handle, and then move your middle finger behind the knife. Hope this helps!
