I was so pleased to see you had chosen a sloth as your first animal to video as they often get a bad press. Please could I put in a plea for a tapir, the one with a plain dark body. You made such an excellent job of the sloth and made your instruction very clear and easy to follow. As I am a complete novice I think I should start with somethink a little simpler but you have given me something to aspire to. Thank you, Carol UK

So cute! Thank for taking the time to explain all of the steps to us. I'm a self-taught wool felter and this is the first time I've seen the armature method. Extra points for using the word armature! SAT word. Anyways, I'm always up for learning new ways to do things. You know, I've been using merino wool for my entire projects (e.g., mini cats and birds). I should invest in the core wool! Anyways, I love sloths because they fit my personality. This is the best of both worlds. Now if only you made a video about procrastination! ;)

Hi! so helpful. but never done the wire work before so I have question. When poking, the wire doesn't bother? even the wool layers keep thicker inside wire part does not bother? or do I have to just poke the wool part? Thank you very much
@LivingFelt

Yes Choi...take care to only poke the wool :) You can vary the angle of your needle and control it to avoid the wire.

...because wool felting needles are BARBED, Why is this never mentioned?!
@LivingFelt
5 жыл бұрын
Hi Penelope! Yes, wool felts because of the barbs on the shafts of the fibers, and wool is able to be sculpted with needles because of the barbs on both the needles and the wool...isn't it wonderful? :) Teachers won't think to cover that basic premise for every lesson....perhaps the way a baker may not cover how yeast or soda affects bread on every cooking lesson. But we are glad you know about it :) Once people hear it once, they get it -- so it is understandable not to mention it in every tutorial.
