Michael Ovens ran his first marathon in 5 hours 15 minutes and experienced several really rough marathon bonks. He used to train every run at max intensity, trying to beat his 5k and 10k times, with lots of injuries and setbacks, poor nutrition and pacing mistakes. He was also wondering why he wasn't losing any weight.
Over the years Michael started slowing down his training pace and improved his nutrition. This was a game changer for him. His current PB is 3:18 and he is now aiming for a Sub 3 Hour marathon goal.
