@@sevourn thank you for opportunity to clarify.. this from a black belt training 24 years.. I feel like a schmuck going for foot locks. for me, blood chokes are the holy Grail..why?.. stops the fight , no harm, no foul.. no one's gets hurt, nobody's goes to jail.. pop someone's knee or ankle, now they're really pissed and fight continues.. from a self defense perspective foot locks (and all joint breaks) are suboptimal.. maybe it's the old school in me, but foot locks, however effective (and they are) will always be douchy to me.. guilty.. thanks again, oss

Hey, love the content been watching for a while. Your principles over specific techniques approach to instruction has really helped my jiu-jitsu. My 7 year old has been training bjj for like 2 years and recently started wrestling, do you have any recommendations on wrestling specific channels that have that same approach. I think it is really good for kids as they don't need to remember 10 steps in a move rather just understand the concept. Thanks man..keep doing what you are doing!!

Jordan my kids love your videos great leg lock technique they have asked me how do u close your guard when people put knee in the middle
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu
7 ай бұрын
Aw that's awesome to hear! You can only do that if you have really long legs. Like Roger Gracie for example could close his guard even if his opponents had a knee the middle. If their knee is in the middle you can go to a different guard like de la Riva. But if you do want close guard a good method is to lift up that leg with a butterfly hook. Lifting it up to drop the knee down and then secure closed guard.
