If this is paired with the guitar, you should add elements of this on the guitar, like the kauri/aluminum dovetail motif on the control knobs. That would be cool!

All the big guitar companies mass-produce crappy, cheap plastic plectrums. It wouldn't be weird if Crimson had its own line of them. It would be even cooler if they were made from off-cuts from guitar manufacturing especially if people who buy guitars also get some plectrums made from the same pieces of wood as their guitar.

I would be interested! I make my own picks out of old coins, usually European and usually over 100 years old. I find silver is the best metal for picks as it’s easy to work and is the least noisy as far as pick chirp goes. They also last forever as you can reshape the edge when you need. I love the idea of a Crimson plectrum.

Very nicely made but that Alu tip isn't long for this world! I've made plecs from it before and they wear down fast, even an hour's playing will turn a noticeable and heavy burr along the edge. I've since moved to brass which is much better, might be worth a look.

@claudevieaul1465

Making your own picks makes sense - you've definitely got the woods for it 😀 I'd be interested! To get a stronger dovetail-joint between the wood and aluminium it might be useful to soak the wood in resin of some sort, just to harden it?... Or create an aluminium outside, the contour of a plectrum, and fill the inside with a nice piece of wood - you'd get the thickness and feel to your fingers, but the stiffness and durability as well.
