Thank you. 3:37 -- just don't try that with a MUV-1, that would end badly. The older MUVs with lead strip delays are unpredictable as to arming time re: temperature, age of the fuze etc., MUV-1 has no delay element whatsoever.

Used a long stick with a light fabric ribbon attached on the end. When you moving in a heavy vegetation and forested area, there is a big chance to not see a wire. So that ribon is helpful to detect it.

It might actually be nice to use a ferrous material when placing mines. Most modern land mines have reduced metal construction to prevent them from being detected by adversaries, but when it comes to cleaning up after the conflict these explosives pose extra danger for EOD personnel.

Man, could you please show how to detect the mine (and the other mines) and eventually safely disengage from the area it is covering without setting it off, with an emphasis and how not to set it off... maybe how to mark it with improvised techniques using basic tools in the field, so that any civillian can safely notice and stay away How each fuse activation mechanism works and how to watch out for it to make sure that in the end it is not activated How to safely block, disarm or disengage the mechanism intended for fuse activation, so that the mine poses lesser threat than intended (wherever it's possible, because we all know that in cases of some mines it's not the best idea to even try) And maybe in the end, how to fuck up the mine itself like a true engineer/sapper - whenever it is possible by means other than blowing it up safely. This could save a lot of... lives And your tutorials would become valuable educational assets for any after-the-war efforts of cleaning up so that the kids actually playing in the forests instead of their phones don't actually die in the future. Imagine additional audiences from youth and teachers all over the war-torn world, where old shit like that is still laying around and posing threat for decades already.

I would like to see all of these, but the sources are scarce. Apart of old soviet manuals, I know only two youtube channels you can learn something about the subject, but both of them are in ukrainian. As to Mr. Valgear, don't expect too much from him. He is not an officer and I suppose that his knowledge about explosive devices is limited.

So the large safety pin on the MUV must always stay in unless you want the mine to automatically self-destruct, i.e. function within around 4 minutes?
@ZZizitt
4 ай бұрын
Nope. The large safety pin activates the detonator. It is delay armed, so it means that after removing the safety pin it'll be armed in approximately four minutes. Detonators of the MUV seria designed for tripwire initiation, so it means when it's armed it goes off after the small pin is pulled out.

The Soviet system of laying trip wire on mines also has a “U” shape pattern with the bottom corner of the “U” has a 90degree corner of trip wire at each bottom side of the “U” Another Soviet pattern has a long line pattern 30 to 60 meters long with alternating shorter branches of mines coming out on each alternating spaced side
