Aw, I loooove Abbie’s smile showing off all her signs! That girl is the best. Priscilla, my mom had me, her neurotypical kid going to Girl Scout camp every summer and my sister, her type 1 diabetic child who went to a juvenile diabetes camp every summer, and the ziplock trick is exactly how she packed us both every year! Especially with my sister’s medical needs, having everything organized and together was so helpful.

I go to a 2 weeks camp every summer with a regular scout group, but I'm autistic and need some help sometimes so my scouters know about my needs, too. I've finally learnt to pack my own bag, but I do it like you. I'm not "aware" of how clothes match so I just pack full outfits with the help of my mother. We're located in Spain.

They are some awesome tips, just even for any vacation... I like how you put each thing in a ziplock bag .. as a paraplegic this would be helpful for me so that i can just pick one ziplock bag with all my clothes in it for the day, and also have seperate ones as you showed for other things.. this was so helpful to me.. as a paraplegic it be so helpful, as trying to find things and your suitcase gets messy as you try to go through it looking for stuff.. this was a great video.. thank you so much. Abbie is going to have so much fun.. and she is with her big brother Isaiah.. I am so glad that he gets to go and help out.. I know he loves to do things like this.. he has such a big heart and has such a compassion for people.. Enjoy mom and dad and get out there and go lay on the beach and relax.. love you guys

I worked at a camp like Camp I am special in Little Rock Arkansas for 6 years summer and on weekends during the school year Camp Aldersgate. Initial everything they owner while at camp this help tremendously to make sure that everything gets back to owner and I hated writing on kids clothes if didn’t have parents permission but that was part of our checking process was to initial and inventory everything. Families that packed clothes in baggies were my favorite makes life so easy. Also if you are really love your staff at camp writing a list of what all you brought with the child does wonders especially if you are packing in baggies.

I worked at a camp for people with disabilities for a few years and my biggest tip is to make sure that you don’t send anything of value unless necessary. Camps about having fun and things get broken and lost, so be ready for it. Also, sending a designated laundry bag will help to keep the campers room clean and things sorted rather than all over the cabin.

My daughter is autistic non-verbal as well but she’s 4. I haven’t yet sent her to a summer camp but I know she would benefit from it. Mostly why I haven’t sent her is because we are having problems with her school. If they would cooperate, she would have gone to some sort of summer program... ugh 😑 I love your videos!
