In this video I am using multiple layers to paint an emu. I started with general and then moved to specifics. I added more details with every layer. I have used think glazes between layers to add pure colour and to create transparent shadows. Painting in layers gives a painting depth that is very difficult to create in a single layer. It also enables me to make subtle adjustments as I go along - this means that none of my layers needs to be perfect, I can improve the painting with the next layer. This takes a lot of pressure away and makes the process a lot more enjoyable. Thanks for watching. If you would like to see more of my work please visit christodelportart.com
