Why do you wet the back of the paper? Anybody know? Thanks

It stays wet longer so I have more time to paint wet into wet.

Does the paper dry completely (front and back) before you go to the 2nd wash? If so doesn’t the paper move around during the subsequent washes?

In arid Colorado, I struggle getting juicy enough paint and brush strokes, as the paper just immediately soaks up everything on the brush. I hope this technique of wetting both paper sides will help. Any suggestions for when you are not painting wet on wet?

I have to use cheap papers because the good ones are so expensive here and I'm a complete beginner ,wet on wet, doesn't work on this papers 😢 it's frustrating I love the effects... I try , dry on damp, on this one

I am a beginner too, and on a budget, but paper is by far the most important part. I didn’t know why I couldn’t do wet in wet until I started using good paper. I promise a lot of your learning frustrations will end when you switch to good paper. If you have a hobby lobby near you they sell 12 sheet pad of arches for around 16$. I sometimes cut those in half to extend my sessions. I hope this helps,

Do you have any affordable recommendations for your mop brush? I got one a few weeks ago and instead of tapering like yours, it fluffs out and I don’t really like it. I like that you can use the point for details If you would like to. Thanks in advance!!!
