It might be just as quick to take the tank off the toilet, you don't need special tools, just 15 minutes to get the tank off and another 15 minutes to put it back on.

You’re welcome to remove it, but often times it can create issues that take longer than 15 minutes to resolve. Everybody’s toilet is different, so for us it’s not worth it time wise, particularly with the risk of it becoming a bigger issue.

Probably easiest just to take off the lid and cover the tank with a trash bag

Could you make a video on how to paint with an airless paint sprayer? Im trying to evolve as a painter and I want to learn how to spray, thanks

Hi Elyeen. Thanks for the request. Honestly we don't spray much and this past year none at all. Some painters do it all the time, we don't since we are mainly residential repaints. You can check out 'Paint Life TV' channel as he does a lot of spraying. Good on you for wanting to improve and evolve as a painter :)

Hi there. 👋 I need your help finding the right type of paint for my bathroom. It's to paint over wooden surfaces which had old yellowed gloss I've already sanded down. Is there a water-based paint, for bathroom wooden surfaces which can withstand moisture exposure 💦 most recommended bathroom paints are designed for ceilings & walls 🤨

I’d use fresh start primer from Benjamin Moore. Then you can go over those surfaces with a trim paint like Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel or whatever trim paint you prefer. I talk about that primer in this video: The Secrets to Transforming Your Handrails FAST kzitem.info/news/bejne/r2xnrG2BcpWboXY

Unrelated question. I am planning on painting my garage which has cinder block walls. Any recommendations for primer and paint? Thanks 🙏

Hi Zee. Also you can use Sherwin Williams Loxon Concrete & Masonry primer and Loxon XP Paint from Sherwin Williams. That would be the gold standard but if you want something less costly you could use a different finishing paint on top of the primer. Also if you want a less expensive primer just make sure whatever primer you use is for masonry or concrete. Should say it on the side of the can. Good luck!

How long do you wait for the baseboard to dry before you tape it? Can you paint a room in one day if you tape the baseboard. Doesn’t the tape peel the “new” paint off. I know you don’t want to get into this. I’m just really curios and interested in your process. Sorry man.

Hi Aaron. Bring on the questions :). It depends. Usually it takes at least two days to paint the bathroom so we do the trim and ceilings first. Then tape the trim the next day. Sometimes we'll tape trim 2 hours after we paint them and hope for the best when we pull tape. We touch where needed. If in a rush we'll paint the baseboards last which would require no taping. Hope this helps

You can put a garbage bag over the toilet also. Covers at least the tank, depending on how big of a bag you have on hand.

I’m wanting to repaint a bedroom and bathroom, I’m looking at getting a radial sander but I have no clue what grit I’m supposed to get or if I need to do 2 separate grits or if just one is fine. If 1 works I’d rather do that but can you recommend me a grit to use or a type of sander, I was going to use a radial sander with an extension rod, the room is already painted so I figured I’d just go over one good time and then start cutting in and painting the room. Can you help?

So, you don't need to use a radial sander to prep the walls. You can get a sanding disk and use an extension pole. We do that all the time. 100 or 150 grit works great. We use our Festool for sanding drywall repairs, but we only sand the entirety of the walls with it in rare circumstances. A once over with a sanding disc attached to a roller extension is almost always good enough. Here's a link to what I'm talking about :www.amazon.com/Full-Circle-International-R360-Interchangeable/dp/B000WQL5CO/ref=sr_1_32?crid=16RMCZNMCDMC8&keywords=sanding%2Bdisc%2B360&qid=1701434713&sprefix=sanding%2Bdisc%2B360%2Caps%2C70&sr=8-32&th=1

That what I meant by a radius sander, it’s one that you screw on to like an extension pole. Yeah I’m not using a powered sander or anything just the disc on the pole I thought it was called a radial sander or something. So you think 150 for a disc sander and just a once over on an already painted bedroom will be fine? No need for doing multiple corses, right?
