Here is a little cloud study I did using oil paints. These clouds are Cumulus clouds which are clouds that have flat bases and are often described with words such as puffy, cotton-like, or fluffy in appearance. Their name derives from the Latin cumulo , meaning heap or pile. To me they look like great big white popcorns. Therefore, I sometimes refer to them as popcorn clouds.
