In this episode of #PaintLikeAPro I begin to work on the landscape in this mule deer painting. I show you how to paint grass in the foreground as well as how to paint the leaves and flowers on the sage bushes. Painting realistic foliage requires a lot of patience and I show you how exactly I do that in my paintings. I also how you how to use different levels of textures to create the illusion of distance and depth for distant horizons in your landscapes.
If you have any questions about something I covered or maybe something I didn't cover I am more than happy to answer.
Materials I used:
- Golden Fluid Acrylics (carbon black, napthol red, burnt sienna, primary cyan)
Liquitex soft body acrylics (cad orange, cerulean blue, titanium white, hansa yellow light)
- Water for mixing with paint
- Round blender and scrumbling brushes from artist loft and princeton. Various other brushes I cover in the video.
