Not that my opinion matters in the art community, but I think the color harmony in this painting, old Robert would be very happy with this. Like me... :) Love from St. Pete 💓

Very inspirational. Great video. I have always struggled with palms. One reason is the variety of palms and I end up with something like what I want and the one in my yard that I see everyday. I'll try some negative painting now. Thanks for the video 👍

This was very helpful. I've wanted to paint the tops of the palm trees right outside of my balcony for years and didn't know what medium to use or how to start. Thank you for demonstrating the negative space method.

Yay!!! You can do it! When I realized it’s really just painting shapes it helped me a lot. We sort of have to tune our brains out of the positive and into the negative spaces.

Holy schmokes Susan how cool is this technique!!! Thank you for sharing! May God bless you and yours with a delightful weekend filled with love! ❤️ Ps Mom & Dad had Boston Terriers, we used to call them “the intimidating terrors of Mamas double wide!!” 😂😂

Ha ha!!! That’s so funny about your mom and dad‘s Boston’s. They can be a bit crazy, but fortunately I got my little guy under control when he was young. I trained him similar to how I trained my boys…. With a rod of iron, LOL! So glad you like this technique sweetheart. It’s a lot of fun.

Beautiful! I love your work. Susan I have recently started watching your demos - absolutely stunning pastel work. You have mentioned that you are looking to buy a new easel, i would love to help you out with that. Please let me know where i can send my contribution. Wow Kamlesh. You are too kind! What a generous soul. I always feel bad about accepting contributions. I guess I’d rather give than receive. But I let others know that contributions could be made to my PayPal account and I am humbled and grateful. My account for PayPal is Susanjenkins777@aol.com

Oh my goodness, I just got an email about your PayPal donation. I am blown away. How absolutely kind and generous. I don’t know how to thank you enough and I’m going to start looking for easels! You are such a blessing my friend. I pray you learn a lot through my tutorials!

Hi Kamlesh, I just wanted to let you know that instead of purchasing the easel, I was now more in need of some camera equipment to help with filming. The items I just bought will definitely improve my video quality. Here's what I bought.... a Camera Mount (so I can have overhead filming of my pastels or other mediums while I work), and a Lume Cube Panel Pro - RBG Full Color Mountable LED Light. THANK YOU SO MUCH and I just wanted to let you know that your generous heart will really help in better video production. Can't thank you enough. :)

We can't do it willy-nilly??? But I LIKE willy-nilly! lol Loved this demo. I tried a palm tree months ago after seeing Karen Margulis do a wonderful one and it was a hot mess. lol I'll try again.

It would be cool to let others in Monet Cafe know of where I might be painting and have a little paint party! I think I might try to go to Saint Pete when it cools off a little bit.

I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with nupastels having a bit of a sheen to them when layering over a soft pastel?
@monetcafe
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, this can sometimes happen if there has been an abundance of pastel laid down previously. Harder pastels don’t layer well as final layers typically.

@@monetcafe lol Or paint with our non-dominant hand. I've had to try that as I've developed muscle spasms in the upper right part of my back -- I guess from too much painting and not enough stretching out of my old lady body. lol
