Dear Emma I’m so grateful for your KZitem video, you saved me from insanity during the confinement and I love your style and inspiration, ! I’ve been painting non stop for the last 2 weeks and I’m in love with your casual style and gorgeous flowers! If you decide to get paid for what you do let me know, I’ll gladly participate. I’ve been painting for more than 20 years but your no-stress tutorial took all the pressure away and replaced it with pure joy, merci beaucoup Nicole french transplant to Arizona , you’re a GEM

Emma, this is beautiful. Wisteria is a vine, growing very prominently on trees, or at least down here in in Texas. But, you did a great job of making it look like it really does look. I love your tutorials, I’m a learning painter and you have helped me so much. Love how you did a little Dean Crouser look in this one! I thank you very much! ⚡️💖⚡️

I'm so sorry you've never seen a wisteria in real life! I hope you get a chance to see one. (They have a short flowering season, so try to schedule it for when it's in bloom!) I planted one in the yard of our first house and I loved it!

Wisteria is a vine, like ivy or grape, that grows on trees or old houses and what you are painting are the flowers that grow on the vine. That’s why the clump of flowers look like a bunch of grapes. HTH.

I had a very visceral reaction at first to this video haha! I work for a tree service, and when I think of wisteria, all I think about is the invasive (and far more prevalent) kind that literally strangles massive trees like a boa constrictor. It's horrid. But yes- it smells lovely and looks pretty until you know what it does! Lovely painting, though, Emma. :)

@@jewelsauls3103 Yes!!! Where I live in NC it's a huge problem- The trees that line the roads are literally engulfed in wisteria. It's super resilient and grows SO fast- we cut one vine that was 4 years old (counting the rings) and it was 6 inches across!!!

Loved that one, the colors you chose are perfect for those flowers. I have a couple questions...how do you decide when to do a wash of color behind your painting like you did here and how do you decide which paper to use?
@EmmaLefebvre
4 жыл бұрын
For the wash behind, I thought about doing it to make the flowers look fuller. And paper, I always (mostly) use arches cold pressed paper
