My old man used to paint box trucks. He’s long gone and I have a 20 year old motor coach. I need to paint some of it now. If I wasn’t 60+ it be done. Im watching

Kudos to your old man! I wanted to paint Rosie for a long time. Once I removed the old cracked and faded decals it just made me more determined to just do it. I’m 62 and I figured it’s now or never. Thanks for watching and make sure to checkout the upcoming videos and see how it comes out.

1/8" thick foam roller, Interlux marine topside paint from Boat US, Murphy's Mystery Oil and expensive badger brush. Interlux has silacone and a few drops of murphy;s in each roller pan= high gloss deep reflection and durable.

Looks good, so far. A recommendation from an old car paint guy is to use wax & grease remover before any sanding. If you sand first, you grind anything on there into the surface, usually causing fish eye. Use the same stuff once sanded right before painting as you did. Can't wait to see the outcome!

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll make sure to do that before anymore sanding. Any recommendations on a good wax? I know I have to wait for the paint to fully cure. I’m buffing with Meguiars ultimate compound, then polishing with their ultimate polish. Thanks for watching.

I had someone tell me 30 days then wax. Thanks for the tip on the 90 days. I’ll make sure and wait at least 90 days before waxing.

I use Rapid Prep for my degreaser. It's from the same company as your Rapid remover for removing the vinyl. I likw it because it's biodegradable.

I hope it looks better than most of the spray can painted cars I've seen driving on the road. Where is Earl Schieb when you need him? He'd paint any car for $29.95 back in the day and guarantee it for 3 years. :)

At 4.13 in your video You show a molding piece and actually point at it. What do you call that? my RV need something similar to it and I actually can't figure it out.
@RoamingWithRosie

That is the molding piece where the top and bottom pieces of gel come together. They were manufactured specifically for the Alfa motorhome. I have seen automotive side moldings on Amazon. I’m not sure where you would find something specifically made for RV’s. Hope this helps.

What makes you choose the reddish bondo spot putty vs the glass fiber bondo?
@RoamingWithRosie

The spot putty is a finishing putty. So any minor imperfections you find after sanding the Bondo glass. You would use the spot putty to fill.
