Something it has taken me a while to get over is that it isn’t just learners who make mistakes. Just because you make a mistake it doesn’t mean you are stupid or cannot do it, experienced drivers make mistakes as well.

Hi Travis wanted to let you know I passed my test on Monday second time !! With only 3 stupid minors lol (stalled once, drove 30 in a 20 mile zone and I stopped to let learner pass through so the hesitation) and did reverse parellel parking , hill start and emergency stop !! Overall absolutely buzzing !!! Your videos have been absolutely amazing !! Good work mate . Cheers

You find van drivers tail or are generally reckless with their driving since they don’t own their vans, they’re usually company owned so many don’t care about the condition of the vans. Not all but you do see it…a lot. That’s the conclusion I came to.

Brilliant stuff Travis, taking notes left and right but you can see how many other people on the road really have no clue what's going on, even tho there already qualified! Everyone needs to be more alert and prepared on the road and I think there would be a lot less hassle.

Love your videos, was wondering, during the driving test what happens if one exceeds the speed limit by 1 or 2 . E.g 30mph for 31 or 32 mph
@JamesTravis
2 жыл бұрын
if it is only for a few seconds and you bring it down, then it is a driving fault for use of speed. But if it continues at that speed or rises more, then a serious for use of speed.

As long as you have valid tax for the car and insurance for you on that car then you are good to go. The examiner will ask you if the car you are driving is taxed and insured for the test.

I have a question, my driving test is tomorrow. Is it a serious fault to not be in the appropriate fast gear, for instance 40mph at 3rd instead of 4th gear?
@JamesTravis
2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question which would depend on if you have a large engine on your car, I will explain. Usually at 40 mph in most cars you would’ve expected to be in 4th by then. You would know because if your car is revving at over 3000 rpm or above on your rev counter then the car is straining to go faster in that gear. But if you are driving a learner car that has a big engine (2. L or above), then your engine would cope at 40mph in 3rd gear and it’s probably not revving. So next time you are driving at 40mph in 3rd take at glance at the rev counter to see if your car is struggling. If it is then you would get a driving fault in your driving test. If you keep repeating the same mistakes it would after 3 times become a serious.

I just got a cancellation for next Tuesday to say I'm shocked is an understatement I know im ready I think because I've failed 5 times I just feel like I'm never gonna pass I want it so much I've got a car and I just want to drive it on my own. It gets me so mad because thers some absolute lunatics on the road and I drive properly and don't take risks even when I'm in my own car and not my instructors car it baffles me how they passed there test. I know I can drive I just keep getting failed for stupid mistakes or like my last test I didnt think I'd done anything wrong I honestly thought I'd passed but clearly not.

@@JamesTravis thank you I just want it so much I don't think I go through all this again 😔. I'm not even nervous on a test that's what baffles me I drive like I do on lessons safe and properly but the examiners always seem to find fault with something I do. I'm not perfect I'm not saying that but when I didn't think I'd did anything wrong it's so frustrating
