In the previous tutorial, I have taught the way of importing Nav Mesh into your Unity project. After running out of ideas, I have decided to make a pause game tutorial.
The 3D game, which was put on a break since April 2023, is finally back in the new episode of 3D Platformer in Unity tutorial series. This project used old input system, but these days I was importing New Input System and changing the way of implementing movements and other button pressing actions. In this episode, you will learn how to pause your game without Time.timeScale which is used in many tutorials.
To pause your game with the new input system, you need to make sure to add a new input action and implement it in the way as explained for player jump function.
According to Unity Documentation, Time is basically a function of updating each frame in Unity. TimeScale is a phrase used by many tutorials, but in this video I will teach you why you should avoid using it and what is the right way of pausing a game in Unity. This project has been altered and modified with the new input system, so you can notice a difference in the player movement script!
As the project becomes complicated, you will need to add more elements and values that generate movement in Unity.
