Thank you very much for this helpful video, very well explained. Just one question. I am running an LTD company registered in the UK, but I am not a UK resident and neither I have not a national insurance number. I am the only director and shareholder of this company. In the minute 3:35, you do mention that every UK Tax Resident person is allowed up to 12:500 pounds in earnings without paying any tax. As I am not a UK resident, am I allowed to this 12:500 allowance? and if I am, how do I take that from my company in a legal way? or do I just take it from the bank account and claim it as a salary? Thank you again for such helpful videos.

Hi there,..you are very informative,..i have few question which I’m stuck.....i will start a job as self employed LDT ,..I haven’t setup the company yet,...i would like my wife to be part of the company to get salary and dividend ,...would that be possible for both of us having 2 times 14500 = 29000 tax free and national insurance free from our business.......i also want to know with remaining money left in the business for example say 11000 £ do you only pay 7.5% dividend at the end of the year and that’s it ,...or do you pay corporation Tax too ? Thank you.

Where does coproration tax come into play?
@tonydCFO

Hi BK, corporation tax is payable by your Ltd Co. It is paid on pre-tax profits at 19%. This is separate from the personal taxes you have to pay on your remuneration.

Question, so in the example you pay 7.5% dividend tax on the £35500 is that correct ? Which takes you to 50k threshold Say you are earning 60k a year, does that mean you pay 32.5% on 45500(difference between 14500-60000) or is it 7.5% on the 35k and then 32.5% on the other 10k (50k-60k) Hope that makes sense. Thanks
@tonydCFO

The tax system is tiered. So only if your aggregate income exceeds £50k do you pay 32.5% tax on personal dividend income above the aggregate amount. Tax is a complex subject by nature so please feel free to book a 'I have a question' call with one of our qualified accountants who can answer your question in more depth and clarity. if you have an employee do you get tax benefits?
@tonydCFO

If you employ someone on a PAYE salary, then this is payable before corporation tax. So effectively yes, there is a tax benefit to your Ltd Company.

Hi My question about tax For example I director of ltd my salary us director 5400 a year Dividend 7600 I’ve already pay corporation tax on it But I also was self employed in that tax year and earn 1850 under my name not company name. So if I gonna do my self assessment tax return. Do I have to pay again tax on 7600 from ltd if I put all together ( salary + dividend + self employment earnings ) total 14850 Thank you
