Good to know about the 'memory' test, especially, as it really seems to be the most serious of the tests checking if computer is working as it should..

I have heard that battery tests can be very in accurate. This is because it’s really just a mathematical calculations based on estimates rather than any info from actual sensors in the battery. So a particularly cheap Chromebook might be mis-identifying the exact battery fitted, which in turn causes ChromeOS to make an incorrect calculation. As your Chromebook is new, I would check the manufacturers website and see what the laptop is rated for on a single charge. If while using your Chromebook you do not get close to that number, send it in for repair quoting the numbers from the diagnostic test. My latest Acer Chromebook had a battery problem, and Acer repaired it free of charge.

There is not shortage of info out there about how to run these tests. There is little info about what fail means - just a lot of refresh-type actions to try - and they I can find says they definitively worked. The test results txt in the app tell you nothing.

I've come across the same thing. My chromebook failed the stress and cache test, but there is not much, if anything out there to troubleshoot to fix it.

@@luvgemsFor a consumer product like a Chromebook. The primary aim of a diagnostic test is to provide the user with confirmation that they have an issue with their computer and provide them with a general area where that problem maybe. This then allows the user to determine if the computer can be fixed by something simple like a reinstall of the OS, or if the computer needs to be serviced under warranty. Unfortunately as your problem relates to your computers CPU. The issue potentially could include any number of factors. So off the top of my head, your CPU might be failing its stress and cache test because it's over heating, which potentially could include: That you have a case with poorly designed internal thermal cooling, a faulty fan, or even something simple like poorly applied thermal paste. Then again it could simply be that you have a flawed or faulty CPU. So depending on the reason why you ran the diagnostic test in the first place. ie your computer is constantly crashing. You might need to contact the manufacturers, and have the Chromebook repaired under warranty (if that's an option). Don't forget to mention that you ran a diagnostic test and give them the results.

@@mydoodads Thanks for your response. What temporarily helped with super slow web browsing/unresponsive cursor was removing apps/saved documents and images. I rarely use my chromebook on a flat well ventilated surface. I'll try preventing overheating as well.
