The wide angle of the waterfall from within the stream, but any PS tricks to restore the waterfall to its proper prominence that the wide angle minimizes?

Difficult choice but I would say the photos taken handheld and framed with the ferns and some with long exposure.

Those waterfall shots with the ferns were stellar, but for me, these majestic trees and reflections in the river at the end take the crown. But frankly, I loved all of these shots - what a fantastic location!

Great video - love all of the images - especially the early tight shots of the waterfall (my preference is for the faster shutter speed) and the images of the forest with the light in the distance are stunning - so peaceful !!! Thanks for all your inspiration and instruction !!

As someone who enjoys capturing waterfalls, I really appreciate the different perspectives and compositions. You gave me something to think about the next time I go out. You should come out to the Finger Lakes region of NY, we have hundreds of waterfalls to choose from.

Indeed a good "what to do as a photographer when hiking" video! Also i noticed how a "landscape" photographer after some years of getting masters, they then explore other aspects of photography such as details photography as you do, or wildlife etc. Its like you are getting a level-up.

All of those images were more than cool, Michael, they were genius. The first session, in front and steps to the side of the waterfall, are my favourites (with the faster shutter speed). And the forest and stream images too... these I think are all ageless. The slow shutter on water (if I'm allowed to say) will be an era in photography. As someone always says "It's purely subjective." Absolutely love your channel. You make my eyes pop!

Wonderful content and excellent composition ideas, thanks Michael, I liked the wide angle shot of the waterfall in the middle showing the vegetation and texture of the basalt on the right side, and I also loved the shot toward the end when you lowered the tripod and captured the reflections of the trees getting rid of the white water in the middle, the lighting was exquisite!

Thats a beautiful place and you took great shots!! The one at 7:50 is a "Michael Shainblum photo" that we can recognize without any explanation. That's what I feel anyways. The one at 15:45 is another favorite, between all these beautiful shots. Great video again!

Wonderful video!!! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. My favorite shots were the forest shots towards the end with the reflections. We just don't have that where I live in Wisconsin. :) The vertical waterfall with the bowed reflection would be a close second. All of them are beautiful.

Awesome video. I live in Michigan and we have a plethora of waterfalls. I just finished up a few of my most recent shots. Still struggling a bit. But getting better. You did give me some inspiration for my next trip. Im still strugling with light. How to catch that mood. I used to live in Oregon and i think i actually did slide down that trail to the water but that was 1980. My bum has healed from the bruises since then 😂
