Awesome content Chris. I'm a subscriber and an investor in Stockspot too! Any recommendations for a low cost superfund?

I have a question for investing, if I have a lump sum of money, should I deposit regularly or all in at the one time? Thank you.

It's all about your risk aversion. Statistics say tha lump sum investing is on average resulting in higher returns. However, you can have a crash and feel bad about it just after you lump sum it. You can DCA it in order to avoid that risk. This is a good strategy in a bear market, but in an upward trending market, you will buy continuously a higher price. I think both are totally fine. As long as you actually invest and have money in a low cost ETF that tracks a large index and you never touch it again for at least 10-15 years, you'll be fine in both scenarios.

Hi Jack, theoretically investing the lump sum at once will give you a better result most of the time (since markets gradually rise over time). However a lot of our clients prefer to dollar cost average which helps you avoid regret if markets dip straight after you start investing. This article has more details: blog.stockspot.com.au/dollar-cost-average/

What about hidden fees? Aren’t there superfunds that just pay other investment funds to do the investing for them?

Hi Reece, sometimes it can be more efficient for funds to outsource investments. High investment fees can come both from insourced and oursouced investment functions.
