Decor wise, I have one tank that is Disney/St Johns theme! All the fish are named after something Disney and the aquascape is similar to that of St. John’s. For example, St. John has rocks in the shape of a Mickey at the bottom of the ocean if you go scuba diving. So I have that too! And I’m and Ariana Grande buyer and stocker!😬 I see it, I like it, I want it, I buy it! I’ve gotten better but, none of my tanks I have right now have been planed. Oh and I think it’s St. John that has the rocks! I could be wrong though.

Your videos are so thoughtful and reflective. I learn something from each one, and I'm always interested in the various aquascapes you create. The one here is interesting because it is both attractive and has a lot of semi-open areas to improve viewing of the fish. Like you, I did a spreadsheet before buying. Mine was for cool water tropicals because I didn't want to heat the aquarium. I came up with about 30 possibilities. I made some good choices and some mistakes I'm still dealing with. The glofish tetras have been my biggest problem. I bought 6, but they turned out to be territorial rather than schooling fish. As such they don't move much and are not very visible. I'm debating about adding more, as I heard that more makes them more likely to school. But if this isn't so, I have a lot of fish I'll want to rehome.

Nice video with your usual well thought out information. I like your use of a tote for your quarantine tank. Do you keep it cycled in the background or how do you manage it when you have no stock in quarantine? I love Frogbit!! It has got to be the best nitrate sponge in the world. It also provides excellent cover for baby fish. I have new fourth generation Guppies in my Dragon tank and the Frogbit is pretty much as good as a fry tank. I also feed them a mix of foods for fry. I mix the powder in with flakes in a bottle of water and pour it on top of the Frogbit and the roots close to the leaves, catches a lot of it and the fry can stay up in the roots to feed. Always love your videos AGW you are among my top five favorites, always a pleasure.

Marie Condo method all the way. Pick a behavior you want to see and stock your tank around the fish that you really really want. My favorite tank right now is all about my silver tipped tetras. They’re always so happy to see me and I love to watch them schooling and following my finger. They’re active and beautiful and I absolutely love them. They have three tank mates. One clown pleco, one female powder blue dwarf gourami, and one red mystery snail. And those critters are all fun and peaceful and pretty in their own right. But in that tank, the school of tetras are the showstopper and anything that comes into their tank needs their approval or it goes somewhere else.

I needed something for my male double tail Betta, so I decided to get kuhli loaches. I switched my substrate to sand, put in an extra hide (my Betta loves his hides), and told my mom the only problem was going to be we will never see them again. Since then they love to swim around and play in the bubbles from my diy sponge filter. The internet lied to me, but I'm ok with that. I'm guessing it depends on the amount of loaches you get. The more you get, the safer they feel. They recommend 3, so I got all 4 they had. Added enough hides and let my nephews choose the decorations. They like to look at my fish when ever they visit, and I have 3 tanks. Each one picked some decoration. And when we got home we each picked one tank to decorate. They oldest picked the double tail male and loach tank, he put nothing but super colorful fake plants. The youngest decorated my tetra and female betta tank. He also turned my tank into a rainbow. I got my glo Betta tank and it's the natural tank. I don't care that the tanks are deferent and don't have a theme going on. Because my nephews were happy and I made sure the decorations were safe with no sharp edges that will hurt my fish. Plus they love to feed my fish when they visit, so now each has there own tank they can call there own. I am still the main one doing all the work, but they can now say this is my fish tank. As long as the fish are happy, healthy, and safe, the type of deco doesn't bother me. Plus the look on my babies faces when they finished was worth it. I have one tank that is how I like it either way, so I'm happy.

@@raineydayz1665 Oh dear! Gasping for gills can be caused by damage to the gills, not enough oxygen, etc. I would do an immediate large water change and see if that helps. Test to see what your water parameters are (you want 0 ppm ammonia, 0 ppm nitrites, and less than 40 ppm nitrates). Also, you should have lots of surface agitation (usually caused by filtration) to increase oxygenation. Do some more research online to see what other things may cause gasping at the surface.
