Looks very interesting. Probably one of the best easy card games. Looks like Boston. I wasn't able to find a comprehensible set rules, but it seems Boston was played more or less like this. Boston was a competing game/branch of whist-like games, but finally auction whist branch (including bridge) won the competition. Btw. could you make a video about 500/Five Hundred? Awesome game. IMHO second best contemporary card game after bridge. :)

I would disagree. Played it a lot when I was young, but I think we played without a kitty, playing thirteen tricks.

we always played minimum 7 tricks and maximum being 13 (all of them), but ok.

This looks great. I know my card game friends will live this. Question. To find your partner, can you call for a card that is not trump? And if so, would that person still have to play it even if they have trump in their hand?

Great question! You must call for a trump card that you do not have in your hand. The person holding it must play it. Hope you enjoy the game. 🙂

Do you also call for a partner in the 3-players version? Isn't this too easy then?

For a three player game, no calling. ☺️

I wonder why they called the Grand Slam "Amerikaner"? Does it just mean big? There's no info about why at Pagat nor Wikipedia. I have come across Amerikai hét (American sevens) which is the Transylvanian version of Crazy Eights but I can't find the connection here either.

Amerikaner simply means American. If I had to guess, I would say the title of the game and the biggest bid is simply an allusion to American style card games.
