9:14 THE RULE GOBLIN HAS MADE A MISTAKE!!! The rules state to remove 2 dice faces from each POOL (at random, btw). The gold cost areas do not define a pool. The instructions clearly show the sanctuary contains 10 pools of gold faces and 5 pools of card faces. For 2 players, 2 faces at random should be removed from each pool of 4, totaling 20 faces removed from the gold pools and 10 faces from the card pools. (The random choice only affects the 4, 12, and Shield pools).

I love this game! The game is well-designed, and the gameplay is really fun. But the physical changing of the dice faces is pretty much just there for novelty factor. When popping and pushing faces starts to get annoying, try replacing the "super dice" with regular six-sided dice (two different colors) and printing out a sheet that keeps track of what each face means. Swapping plastic pieces on a sheet of paper is way easier than actually having to pop out the faces and keep track of where they flew off to... Thanks for the video. It's a handy reference for those who might not know the game.
@NightsAroundaTable

Thanks, Manakyn! i initially had trouble popping off the faces (see my Unboxing vid), until i realized you're supposed to use the spare face as a leverage tool. Now, it's super easy to gouge an attached face out by gouging the gap with a corner of the detached face you just bought.

I think the boar is wrongly explained. If the player forced to put boar on his dice will roll the boar, he gets to choose either 1 sun shard or moon shard. But you, the one who bought the card, can actualy benefit from other player rolling boar because you can choose either 1 sun, 1 moon or 3 Victory Points

Wait, so you can forge any number of different die faces on your turn, but you can only perform ONE feat per turn? Unless you spend two sun shards to be able to take another action, in which you can perform two feats?

@NightsAroundaTable
4 жыл бұрын
Because it's very boring. i try to run my videos like i'm teaching you in person, and i would never sit someone down at the table and say "here's how you set up the game." That's no way to hook somebody or get them excited about playing. Grab any Lego kit and look at the back. Is there a picture of the final thing and some callouts showing its most interesting features, or do they print the first few pages of the assembly manual? No video for any product anywhere, in any industry, leads with setup/assembly - even with a product like Lego where assembly is, arguably, the entire point. It's only because there is a certain longstanding board game content creator who leads with setup that everyone else follows suit, and viewers have been trained to think that's the "right" way to do it!

So on the active players turn, me. Can I buy as many different faces if I have resources? Or do I spend the 2 sun shards so I can double? Or can I only buy a second face if I spend 2 sun shards?

@@BrandonMB608 Oh - no! Sorry if i was unclear. You can REPLACE the sun shard (say, with a 4 Gold face you just bought), but you can't move it to the other die. Then later, you can pop off the 4 Gold face and replace it with something else.

The only real similarity is in the cover design. It's based on Greek mythology. But i would be shocked to learn that the artist(s) didn't draw inspiration from The Dark Crystal.
