Update: now own the game thanks to your video! It's freaking gorgeous and learning from your visuals (and humour) has been wonderful as predicted :D Original post: Top-notch instructions and visuals! Your videos are entertaining even when I'm not interested in the game. Love how you do a great overview and then show cards in action and where they go. Plus tips on how to actually play and fix issues, so few do that in their videos! You made me interested in that game which I never would have looked at in details otherwise.

This is hands down the best rules video I’ve ever watched. Usually I finish a rules video and then go start reading the rule book to try to understand how to play. After watching this video, I sat down and was able to play the game with only referencing the rules here and there.

Another phenomenal teach! The structure to this is perfect and your flow as smooth as a pint of Guinness. I also love how you always inject a bit of humour but it's never distracting and the quack "nope" sound gets me every time. You really know how to distil it down perfectly. ;) I only wish you were able to cover more games as you easily accomplish what others do in literally half the time. Just know that if there's ever a Nights Around a Table video for a game teach I don't bother watching anything else.

Fast response! We were unsure about what materials/ ingredients were reuseable vs needed to be discarded; that the signature recipe can only be made once even though you can buy, say, sugarcane juice in the premium market to make more of your signature cachaca; that the game goals should be checked every round and not just at the end of the 3rd round and the end of the game; and that when someone buys something from the premium market we replaced it in situ instead of sliding them down. At the end of the round, we put the right-most cards into the truck, slid it all down, and refilled it but during the round, we just refilled that slot that was bought. We checked the rules book (but we were chatting, excited to play, and new to the game so it's totally possible I missed it but we even read section aloud to each other. Again, thanks for this. Loved the graphics and way you explained everything. You've definitely earned my sub. @@NightsAroundaTable

Many would describe it as “mid-weight,” which isn’t everyone’s bag! Thankfully, there’s a game to all tastes. If you like the push-your-luck idea in Distilled, take a look at Port Royal or Quacks of Quedlinburg or Oh My Goods! for lighter takes on that idea. If you like the recipe fulfillment idea, Century: Spice Road does a great job at it, with fewer rules.

@NightsAroundaTable
Жыл бұрын
They did, after about a year. Still worth it, i'd say (and there's still some goo in the pen!) The trouble with that products is it's becoming harder and harder to find. My link already goes to a "product unavailable" page and i can't seem to pin it down. i've contacted the company that makes Compound W with the hope of finding a more reliable product, but they say none of their stuff has trichloroacetic acid in it. You can buy TCA on its own from a pharmacy... i just don't know how strong the concentration is in the pen, and i don't know what's an appropriate concentration to put on your skin.
