I was lucky as a young man as a friend worked for the Allmans so I got to hang out with them and stuff. They were the real thing and it is so sad that Gregg is gone. I have 3 Gregg Allman and Friends shows that I taped where I was the only taper at the show and thus I am the only one who has these shows. I need to copy them and release them before my dat tapes deteriorate...... One of the shows was 1/3/98....... Thanks for posting....

That's awesome! I'm in the middle of listening to Greg Allman's autobiography. Not quite the same as getting to hang out with him! haha. Seems like he was such a chill and humble guy. Just my kind of lead singer.

I just got into the ABB a few years ago. Love their sound. I got to see the Duane Les Paul in a museum in Seattle, the guitar with Duane in frets on the back. That was a thrill for me. I wish I had been into them when I was younger and had the chance to see them. I hope to see Derick TRUCKS if/when the world goes back to normal.

i like your dialogue on the improv sections ....vibe, explore, boxes, "feels right" that sort of thing. I think Derek Trucks does indeed do that on the Dreams solo he does ( if we're talking about the same show and i think we are). carry on man, good lessons,

Really enjoying your lessons. I like the chill approach. It's at a good speed for my level. Loving the ABB lessons, especially the Duane Allman focus of this lesson. What would make me so happy is someone who does Tedeschi Trucks or Derek Trucks Band transcriptions or just lessons really. I've not found anyone on KZitem who really gets Derek. There's several folks who do Midnight in Harlem as if that's typifies what Derek does, which just ain't so. Tunes I'd love to see is The Storm, Idle Wind, pretty much anything on Let Me Get By. But really it's live where Derek shines. Btw, your guitar looks and sounds amazing.

i've been trying to grasp this mode thing and Bamn , i think i kind of sort of do. So in essence i could Play G Major scale patterns i knowing that i should target D not G. Because those two are literally the same notes! i guess i could just visualize the flat 7th in a D Major(Which points out i need to be fluent identifying each scale degree which i'm not!)
@JeffWilliamsGuitar
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely! When I used to be most familiar with the major scale I would focus on that and translate. But now I think of the mode. Only difference between D major and D mixolydian is a Major 7th vs. Dom 7. Just one note move by 1 fret totally changes the sound and opens things up. Nice thing about the scale patterns is that they're all movable. Once you're familiar with D mixo, if you wanna play E mixo, just move everything up 2 frets.
