Just played this game for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed. We adapted the rules slightly, requiring 12 points to be achieved in one ecosystem instead of across all. This can be achieved if you allow ecosystems to be linked using the organisms that can survive in both. We found that this made for a more high stakes game with very large and complex systems.

This is brilliant! We have all three decks. This little twist will make the game so much better!

I could see myself playing this without the trading function. I feel like that mechanic doesn't always work well in these kinds of games, where there's already a bunch of other things to keep track of.

I just got this game and played a solo round. However, I had a C2 card I wanted to play (same biome) but it did not have the C1 organism in its list of organisms it eats. Does this mean I can't play the C2 card even though I've followed the game requirements of having a biome, producer, and C1 in play?

I have students for 40 minutes. I wonder if this game would still be fun if the win condition was 6 points. Also my kids are 3-5 graders (8+) but wonder if it would be too difficult to learn.

Players all build separate ecologies and are competing against each other. There's also a solo mode. Hope this helps!

Trading to create a healthy ecosystem, saving your abiotic factor cards to disrupt others, etc. Haven't actually played yet tho

if you have cards in your hand that do not work with your biomes and you would rather discard them for a chance to get better cards that you can use. if you're half a point away and discard four useless cards to get one that you can play you'll be in a much better place. Or if it's a close game and you draw something that can destroy your opponent's biome its a huge swing. All of the negative cards in the deck are super strong. way stronger than the normal cards you draw
