Excellent, clear and concise description of the basic core mechanics of the game, well done! I have only recently discovered these rules and am very impressed and pleased with how playable and enjoyable they are. Yes please, more explanatory videos and battle reports! Your clarity of dialogue is pleasing, as there are many on YT that are far from! Thank you for taking the time to make and post.

Thank you for the great feedback, really appreciated. One Page Rules do wonderful games, that aren't bogged down in too many rules. This I think allows for players to focus more on the fun aspect of the game rather than trying to exploit loop holes.

Just to clarify, the rules are meant for whatever models you like - although most of the armies are indeed inspired by _ahem_ certain well-known model lines, you can use whatever you have available. OPR are even gradually releasing their own models, both 2- and 3D. The 3D ones are downloadable STLs that you can buy from MyMiniFactory, and if you're on Patreon, you can get free ones every month...
@stonehorsegaming

Being model agnostic really gives OPR systems a great strength. The 3D print models do look stunning. Really like their take on some of the factions.

@@stonehorsegaming Yeah, they're coming out with some brilliant models, and their Patreon is really good value. I'm currently printing and painting a small Alien Hives force at the moment, and I'm tempted to do some Battle Sisters after so I've got enough for a second player. The 27-model alien army I've got so far was printed in a weekend, and cost less than a fiver's worth of resin... 🙂

Looks very fun! But just wondering, if unit A charges unit B, unit B survives and strikes back but fail to kill unit A. Was this counted as unit Bs activation, or is he free to activate next?
@stonehorsegaming
3 жыл бұрын
It is a fun little system, in your example unit B doesn't count as activated. However as it has attacked in melee it would only hit on an unmodified 6 in melee for the rest of the round, so if it charged a unit it would need 6s to hit.

I don't understand the wounds on multiple units rule. The grunts don't have tough so wouldn't 4 wounds kill them all? Why does the last grunt suddenly get to withstand two wounds and have to roll a dice when the previous grunts each died at one wound? Hoping I can find an answer online somewhere but this video didn't do anything but restate the rule.

Are the rules for pinning different in firefight than in regular gameplay where you roll to see who caused more wounds and then the loser has to do do a morale test?

Morale tests in GDF: Firefight only occur when an army is down to half or less of its starting units at the end of a round, or whenever a spell or special rule requires it.

Great stuff :-) I'm going to post later on their forums about how Firefight rules for the game mostly around the points should be done/ explained better. There doesnt really seem to be any that I can see outside of model count. When you look at the main army books it shows everything for Grimedark Future mass battle game they should have reworked points to make it easier and more balanced. Example in the hive army book it has the Unit grunts down as 130points for 10 of them divide that by each one that is 13 points (this makes total sense for a game) but lets say I want a prime warrior the points 170. I think they should do one of two things give games examples of amounts of points for Firefight or rework the points system and give lower points for Firefight. Either of these would make it very easy for newcomers to figure things out in terms of how to set up a game (points to unit wise)

Sorry, I don't understand what you are referring to. GW may throw cease and desist orders around like they are going out of fashion, but this is a generic sci-fi game that is model agnostic. So doesn't infringe of GW's IP.
