Wonderful! I got to see Neil in 72 or 73, (memory lapse) acoustic only, all by himself.. it was surreal. Yes he can sing,, write, and play. Got to see Jim Croce too.. Similar talent there lost too soon.. Thanks for the video, it's awesome. I still have the Heart of Gold Guitar song book.

Thank-you so much for featuring Neil Young. Have followed your channel for a long time so it was a real treat when I saw today’s post featuring Neil Young, one of my all-time favorites. “The Needle and the Damage Done”, “Cinnamon Girl”, “Down By The River”. There are so many great choices, but I guess you selected a song suited for acoustic guitar. For me, Neil Young songs are like masterpiece paintings. Each one creates a music landscape. It’s not that he tries to play a flurry of notes but instead creates a mood. He is like no other. I don’t have enough music theory knowledge to be able to explain it but it’s like seeing Rembrandt or a Vermeer for the first time. You know it’s something extraordinary even if you can’t paint. Please, delve into more Neil Young. By the way, thanks for making your lesson easy enough for a beginner like me.

I'm so glad you did this video. So many guitar players judge themselves against professional guitars such as jazz, or country chick'n pick'n cats who shred the neck of their guitars. I've been guilty of that myself. However, I've come to realize I love playing the guitar regardless of my skill level. I play pretty well (so people say), and I'm content in playing what I can. Thank you Guitar Pilgrim.

Love playing Neil Young songs. He plays them differently every time... big help, you can get away with making sound like it ought to be the song, but not quite. Lots of it is in the rhythm, picking, hammer ons & palm muting. His electric & rockier songs soung great on acoustic also.
