May I ask. That guitar… does it have a small chunk out of the neck at the back on the F bass side? And if so what can I do to get it back? That guitar looks identical to something that got away from me about 13 years ago. I’d do anything to get it back.

I grew up in Detroit. My neighborhood was seven miles from Motown Studios. This song, this band was instrumental to soundtrack of where I grew up. Wow! The lick up on the 17th fret always reminded me of Leslie West.

I immediately thought "Whoa, Andy's drum machine skills have gone ballistic!" Then the timing and groove betrayed that there was a skilled drummer hitting things with real sticks. 🙂 Excellent as always, big Rare Earth fan. Nice job Trent!

I've seen Rare Earth several times at the Colorado Spring Armory! That was many moons ago. Always a great show and I ALWAYS looked forward to this hymn. Great suggestion!

I totally agree abput the pentatonic scale ! People who complain about it just don't how to use it properly ... It is so alive especially when you mix major and minor it's epic !!

Hey Andy...Just want to thank you sooo much for all your hard work and accuracy on all these song. Your an amazing artist!! Don't know if you have done "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd but you would be amazing with this. Love to0 learn another one from you. Im in my early 60s and because of you... Im back heavely into guitar again. soo much, went out and bought a descent guitar, a Taylor, to my small collection. getting ready purchase another one here soon. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! First Song I learned from you was, Landslide. It wasnt easy but hung in there with you and got er done. Dont know if i could have hung in there with any one else. I love guys that play the music exactly how the band played it. Nobody wants to hear someone's rendition of rare earth. They want to hear as close to rare earth or any band for that matter if you play cover music

Andy, will you please provide a little info about the effects you used? Sounds like a lot of reverb, and is there a phaser or wah pedal used in the solo? I checked in the comments and on your site and didn't see it. Thank you!

Hi Michael. I used a Marshall 800 profile with my Kemper by Michael Britt. I used tap tempo delay. I added a bit of reverb in the mix. For the solo, I added a green scream pedal ( similar to a tubescreamer) and used the Kemper autowah. Cheers, Andy.
