Great lesson, Ben, seriously! One thing I particularly enjoyed was how at 1:15 you said, "the stroke is going to cover particularly the bass strings", then at 1:23, you say, "Once again - same time with the golpe", and then you clearly hit all the strings with the trebles ringing quite nicely. Then, you look down, thinking to yourself, "Huh - what the fuck just happened there? I thought it was supposed to be primarily the basses!" :) Olé!

Azaan, believe me, the world's masters of the guitar always disclose in interviews that the guitar is an instrument that is un-masterable (even they feel as professional musicians unable to conquer the guitar); but that is the beauty of the instrument. The secret to music is found in two steps "(i) Don't stop; and (ii) keep going." --Frank Zappa Learning an instrument is like learning a language. If we think of all thousands of words we don't know, we become completely overwhelmed; but if we learn just one word a day, we will have 365 at the end of the year! Keep playing!

@Flamenco4U
3 жыл бұрын
Ahh yes! You have a good 👂! You get that “double” sound on the down-strum when you proceed the thumb with the index for an echo effect. If you want even more doubling, you can add a rasgueo before the index (e-a-m); then i, then thumb.

i think the real difficulty arrives when trying to learn several of these rumba techniques simultaneously and the pragmatic part of your brain is saying "make up your damn mind bitch the hands are getting real confused!"
@Flamenco4U
4 жыл бұрын
I couldn't have said it any better! When we are learning these rhythms, it's best to just concentrate first on the right hand first, and then drill that pattern into our brains so that the right hand can go on auto-pilot for that particular pattern. ...Once we get that pattern down, then we can concentrate on our chords. The next step is to go back to the right hand again, and learn new patterns with slightly different variations. ...Hey, I think I'll do a tutorial on that! Thanks!
