Scott, this is exactly what I needed. I am working through Eric Lin's Melodic Shapes book (from Page 1) and I couldn't get it not to sound like 8th notes.. Now, I got it! du-Ba-du-Ba-do! Thank you. P.s. It helps to sing it first.
