Hi. I'm COMPLETELY new to music and I have found hundreds of people trying to explain this pattern to me BUT you are the only one who has made it work for me - I finally get it now. Thank you very much. :D

I totally agree, all the other youtube tutorials did not get me there. "DownDown - Up- UpDownUp" made sense . . . except, I'm trying to relate it to a beat pattern. That pattern seems to be only 3 beats, or is the " - " the 2nd beat? Or is it three beats, with the 4th beat being the start of a new bar? Help

I agree with SmileyDream68. Very clear and broken down instructions is what we (beginners) need otherwise what seems so simple for seasoned musicians, becomes very confusing for us. Thanks a Lot that was super helpful!

I'm new at playing the ukulele and I was wondering of it is okay that I strum with my thumb or should I learn to strum will all my fingers or my index finger
@SmileyDreams68
6 жыл бұрын
I've research a lot and most say you can start with your thumb and then work up to your finger and finally (really good musicians) use all their fingers.

Elizabeth e Hello there. I think this is an issue of preference. There will be times when one way will feel better than another way. It will probably depend on the the rhythm you are playing. I hope this helps but if you need more help, please let me know.

Is anyone else’s fingers BURNING?
@ukenjam2960
3 жыл бұрын
If your fretting fingers are burning, that’s is normal but don’t over do it. Give yourself a break. However if it is your strumming hand, that means you are using your flesh to strum. Try using that back of your fingernail. Another thing to try is a thin guitar pick. I hope this helps!
