I learned this one year's back, I'm over 50 years old now... When learning Stuart Copeland grooves, ventured off into Bernard Purdie from there, such a great lesson to learn again, thanks very much. You play that really, really well. Bravo sir!

I really enjoyed this vid, especially since I'm from TX! I'm gonna try and apply this lesson today. My kit's set up in the garage and I'm on my way out there now. It's good to get some new content from y'all.

Just started watching your channel. Love it. Your double bass beats for beginners (that make you sound like an expert) is great. I a a new fan!

Great lesson & Great sounding cymbal, I've been going back to 'basics' in my drumming as I realized I was focusing too much on technique and syncopated grooves and all that, while my time keeping was really off, got my first pair of overheads to record and had a little of a cold shower listening back. altho personally I prefer it when tutorials/lessons describe hands as snare/hihat as opposed to left/right, I don't personally play with open hands, but it still confuses me for a second cuz I gotta think "ok who's playing what here"

Love the variations. Was first exposed to the Tx shuffle for the first time as a kid in the 80s playing with my band La Grange by ZZ Top. I had an old tape with it and had a hard time understanding the ghost notes. I ended up ghosting on the bass drum!!!🫣 😅
