Just ran over a nail last week (went in perfectly perpendicular no leak). Just ran over a short, fat screw today (not perpendicular, no leak but smacks on the ground a bit) on both my newest front tires, of course. Don't want to remove the tires. Glad it can be done! But I will turn the wheel and rotate the holes upward for easier access. Thanks for the video!

A little lubricant always helps it go in easier. Great video, thanks!

@@outofthebox9913 any kind of lubricant will do. I've used grease, vaseline, baby oil,engine oil, automatic transmission fluid,and never had a problem at all. Trust me. The plug stays put for the life of the tire.

Aren't you supposed to trim the excess?
@FWayfinder
Жыл бұрын
No. When ur driving, those excess treads will be worn off, flatting it out even with the tire :)

Yes. You should remove the tag. Don’t listen to Jebren. Always go by manufacturer instructions over some random comment on KZitem.

Yes you remove the excess with a razor blade, to where you leave about 1/4 inch hanging out. THEN it will Flatten itself when you drive

If the puncture is in the tread & not close to the sidewall, the tire is savable. I've run commercial truck tires for thousands of miles with this same plug repair. However, they are a bitch to push in, even with rubber cement lube.

The proper way is lift up little bit with a jack. Otherwise it's hard to insert the plug ....

The instructions on my plug it say do not twist needle while pulling out is it still OK to twist it right before I pull it out or does that mean just not the twist it at all does anyone know
@user-fx5sw4jy7hYz9Hzi

You can twist just slightly left and right to put it in. But you can't twist it when you are pulling it out. Because if you twist it, it gets knotted and you will pull the worm out with it. You can see from the video he pulled out the worm way out with it. That's improper job. The worm should be mostly in the tire.

Could you tap it in with a small mallet instead of struggling to push it in by hand and force?
@StopAntiWhiteism

I tried that twice, didn't work. I used to be able to shove the plug in there. Last 3 attempts I have had major problems with getting it in their. I'm getting old. 😮

The tire gives so a hammer or mallet doesn’t work.

Most plugs works just fine for few years before the plugs tar materials stars degrading and leaking from the pores between the plugs fibers

Just found an Allen key in my front tire. I burned my hand 2and degree badly, I didn't want to drag out lift,off tire. I'll try it TU.

Ahh! The rear tire is hard to put a plug in. I had to pull out and use the debrider because... I can only apply 90 pounds of force by squeezing the tire between my left foot and two hands acting like Thing wiggling the plug in over 60 seconds; just enough!

Is there a reason why you didn't roll the vehicle a bit backwards, and turn the wheel outward? Would have made it a lot easier....

I had this same problem. I didn’t have a jack and couldn’t get the plug in. I almost thought you had a great idea (turning the wheel) but then realized this is a rear tire.
@taoxu935

i guess that was a rear wheel and you cant turn it outward

the british used tire too. the word comes from attire. the british changed it to tyre in like 1910. so america is using the original spelling. what the rest of the world says about aussies is true.
