I would like to note that A and B refers to this series of machines, your machine will have a different set up!

This helped me so much, I have a question for you. I have a Cub Cadet 127 and the generator turns the motor super slowly, have you experienced this?

I'm glad it helped you out! Thanks for the support! I have noticed that, mine does it as well and I have heard they tend to do that. I have almost 0 cold cranking amps below 48°F

@@oldschoolfarmer3685 Is it the battery? Also where did you find the roto tiller for it?
@oldschoolfarmer3685

Its a brand new battery but I don't know what it is rated for in terms of cold start. The roto tiller was purchased new along with the plow and the snowblower.

Are you saying that you need to polarize the generator every time you disconnect the battery and reconnect it ? I've never done that .
@oldschoolfarmer3685
9 ай бұрын
No, only in the case the electrical system is fully taken apart or the generator is replaced, ideally you would to follow the manual but it's not always required

So what if it starts spinning when hooking up the negative cable to the chassis and sparks when touching the negative side of the battery ?

It sounds like you have a stuck contact or bad solenoid

@oldschoolfarmer3685

Yes just reverse the cables if they are backwards, but it sounds like the system needs polarized, the electricity is flowing in the wrong direction

Just curious because I'm learning why do you have to do this? Somebody told me I have to repolarize my voltage regulator. I know that it is different and that you did your starter generator
@oldschoolfarmer3685

It is different, it is important to repolarize when you replace the battery. If you would like I could go into more detail as to why it is important. Thanks for your support! Always great to connect with people!

@@oldschoolfarmer3685 I just restored my whole Sears suburban ss15,new everything. I bought a regulator with one of the poles on the bottom of the regulator that would called for the 3rd pole. Instead of all of them sticking out on the front, I'm pretty sure I have my voltage regulator hooked up the right way it is not charging it discharges when I turn the lights on, that what makes me think I have the wires hooked up right. I posted in a group a tractor group and he said I needed to polarize it. If I honestly can't figure it out I'm going to see if my old one will work I just wanted a new shiny one but I could probably just replace the black Delco Remy cover new one to the old one if it works. Like you said I have to see if I have an A or a b.

Maybe on that starter generator you could use the starting circuit on that tractor. Ie. Those cubs polarize the generator every time you start it ! Oops.
@oldschoolfarmer3685

Not always, the polarization happens on startup normally but in the case the regulator loses charge or the brushes in the generator stick it is necessary
