Nice work on that wet spot. I have changed my mind on Auto-steer - it is good, because you have time to show us lots of interesting details.

If you don't know you can type the latitude and longitude in as a search in google maps and see where the tractor was in the field! There is even street view of the nearby roads and you can see the field as pasture with sheep in it, very cool. Really enjoy your videos!

Power tillage implements haven't caught on so well in the US. And if I even touch a field that wet, I'd be sure to do more damage to the soil structure than useful tilling. We once had a Lely roterra. It was a fine design, but hard to find parts. We did get the more use of it trying to open up wet areas.

That all looks very technical to old fogeys like me, thats a lovely setting that field with the river/lake very relaxing. the old TW is going to feel strange the next time you drive her after all these mod cons George.

My favourite tractor driving job as a youth was harrowing, which of course we had to drag the field first, after ploughing. Could go faster and quite a wide breed. Think I've mentioned my Father was a blacksmith, and his main winter job was laying harrows (sounds painful lol) Only pain was, it took a lot of hammering.

The original display in the 2630 is really only useful on changing harvest settings in 50 and 60 series combines now as they're on an older elec system. Access manager is so the boss can lock employees out of changing various functions that they are not supposed to, or as some in my area do, the sons lock dad out so he can't push the wrong button and stuff it all up.

Makes me think back to a 25 acre field my cousin had. It was sandy loam and in the spring there were low spots where there would be 18 inch of water laying. He would have a buddy come in with a Four wheel drive IH Hydro 100 with a 10 foot 3 point hitch cultivators. He would cultivate breaking the crust and you could see the water run away. I have seen him do this in the morning and plant corn by late afternoon. Of course this land is now tilled and that has alleviated the problem.

Karl Johnson We have a D3, and it's great. Fantastic for mile munching or off-road and had very little trouble from it really. If you are going for a D4, go for the 8 speed if you're after the auto as the 6 speed isn't much different from a D3. Hope that helps a little, even though my names not George! Feel free to ask more questions.... :)

Meteor Shower thanks for your advice im looking at around 17k so dont think my budget would stretch to a 8 speed D4. would you recommend a high spec D3 or a low spec D4? im open to any feedback. the more info i can get prior to buying the better

personally, i'd go for a higher spec D3. Although it'll be a bit older etc and more miles, they don't show it if it's been looked after. The HSE spec is the one you want, but if you're not after all the gadge, a lower model would be fine. As for the towbar, if it's one of the detachable ones, check for wobble in them, as if abused they can be a bit wobbly (LR sent a recall out on them a while back, and if it was faulty, you could have a permanent one fitted) and also make sure you have the key for it, if you wanted to fetch it off.
