This is the best and most informative video on tofu I've seen. And it's so straight forward and helpful

This is such a great video! While I've used the freezing technique, and have seen recipes that boil tofu, I wasn't aware of the other methods. I love tofu, and the techniques shown in this video will make cooking tofu even easier. Thank you so much!

Hi, everyone! I’m so excited to share my experience from a Chinese perspective of preparing tofu. Soaking in hot salty water is a bit less effective than the other methods, but it’s the easiest one to do. 😁 So you probably want to use this method when cooking something more flavourful, for example Mapo tofu. Which method do you like? What other method do you usually use to improve your tofu? Welcome to share your wonderful ideas and opinions!

I love tofu and it's beany flavor - so delicious! I only knew about a few of the methods featured in your video, so thank you for all of this :) Can you please make more videos on Chinese foods prepared from a Chinese perspective? And can you demonstrate some Chinese recipes that incorporate spongy tofu, because I don't know how to use it except for mock ground meat? I really love your channel and hope you continue to make these excellent videos :)

Should we keep the tofu in the freezer along with salty water? Or just only tofu without the salty water in the container? I am confused.

just one question: do you freeze the tofu in the original package with water? or do you remove the water and put it in another container?

What an informative video 😊 How long do you microwave if for to defrost after freezing? Thanks!
@wittytui
4 жыл бұрын
My microwave has a defrost button, so I just use that function. I don't really know what microwave you use. Defrosting could take 2-3 minutes on both sides roughly. And it depends on how powerful your microwave is and the size of your tofu. So it really varies... Maybe you also need to wrap it up with a paper towel just in case the edges get dry. Alternatively, you can just leave it in the fridge to thaw naturally, but take a bit longer time. I hope this can help 😊

One of the doctor said tofu is fermented, I don't know how it is fermented? Do we need to ferment tofu separately or it is fermented when we soak soya overnight?
@Vincentified04

There is a lot of good info here, but I find it difficult to follow when you don't take pauses between sentences. It just sounds like one long sentence in a high pitched tone.
