I really appreciate these tantrum tips!❤️ Giving a time limit and saying “okay we have 5 more minutes to play before lunchtime” has been helping us soo much over here too!

We set timers on our phone when it’s time to leave places or move on from an activity - my son loves to set the timer so it involves him, and the timer is neutral! The “do you want to walk or do you want to be carried?” is HUGE for us too! Thanks for this video Kilean!

We have the same parenting styles and I do almost everything in this video! My daughter will be 2 months old on the 14th but I’ve been a nanny for years and these help so much :)

We do warnings for behavior, but I like the idea of countdowns, or a timer...we have a routine so our day is predictable, and she has an internalized rhythm, but this may refine the transitions.

My daughter's screen time is part of her daily routine after dinner while I feed our 6 pets, and they eat. Basically she stays in her highchair, I rotate it to face the family room instead of the kitchenette. And if I'm lucky I can do some dishes or prep a meal for her for for a week. Either her breakfasts or lunch. Not proud of it but its about 30-60mins every day, sometimes we'll watch a 90 minute movie as a family instead one nite of the weekend. And then we do bath and bedtime routines. But she doesn't get any tablet or phone screen time except videochats with family.

My son is 18 months old and I am really struggling with my anxiety and overstimulation... I find myself raising my voice and getting frustrated with him and I hate it... This was really helpful and I'm trying so hard to remain calm. I know he's still trying to figure out his emotions and I'm supposed to be his safe space.. I also have family who say that he's testing me and he knows what he's doing. I'm just having a hard time.. He's such a good boy but lately I've been dealing with him hitting. And he also makes high pitch noises, cries or whines when he's upset as a form of communication. We do pop him if he does things he's not supposed to. I am also 7 months pregnant with a girl, so my emotions are elevated too.. I just want to handle his emotions the best way I can - to help him.. I am still learning, myself. My husband and I both come from loud, yelling and spanking households. Neither of us like yelling or being yelled at.. but with my anxiety and overstimulation, that just seems to be my reaction.. I try to stay calm, and sometimes I'm successful but My husband works a lot so I am also doing a lot of the parenting on my own.. This advice was helpful and I am going to keep trying my best. My baby boy is my whole world. I never ever want to add to his emotional chaos.. I always want to be his security.

You gave some really really good advice sweetie. I used these with my children when they were growing up too. Also If something that I was trying to do wasn't working, I'd just act silly ( I'd maybe jump up and down and make silly sounds) 🤪. Lol I know it sounds crazy but it worked like a charm for mine. 😂 It stopped a complete meltdown when nothing else was working. My children would immediately start laughing at me and forget all about whatever was causing their Big Little Feeling's. But your doing a wonderful Job parenting. Both of you are ! Enjoy your upcoming weekend. Love From Indiana.💞💞

Also at night it helps if they want to keep sleeping and you want them to come down for them to say good night to things so I’ll say good night book or bye-bye son and my daughter comes down and has been saying good night and bites of things and falls asleep easier

Our tantrums have begun with my daughter (18 mos). 😅 I can’t even remember how I managed this period with my boys when they were tots (16 and 14 now). So this is helpful.

Another way we avoid tantrums is by saying yes as much as possible! Kids hear no all day so if we can step back and think why not? Then they feel so much more respected and heard.

Yes I love this!!! They hear no all day. I try to make sure I am only saying no for a good reason and not just because “I said so” 🥰

Emma Hubbard, KZitemr and pediatric occupational therapist (I think occupational). She has the best advice for tantrums, hitting, biting and toddler training. Super logical info and practical. A lot of the things you suggest are also suggested by her!

Disclaimer I am not expert at all and this is going to be controversial. My son is 22 months one thing that has helped with his patience is ignoring him more. Sounds crazy but when I know he is safe and fine if he is overly demanding I will just ignore him momentarily, I think it has shown him that’s not how he gets his way in things. I promise I give him lots of attention but something about answering their every single need at every second makes them more… bossy?? Dk if that’s the same with all kids

A common mistake among influencers is when they try to offer us advice on how to do something. Please just share your experience. :)
