Question... So there was a heated debate on if too much torque compromised the bolt. Searching for answers lead me to your video and was curious your thoughts on if over torquing a bolt could cause harm to the bolt or rock. Thanks for the video!

Hi mate, yep there's always been that question. My mentor (an engineer) always said it's better to over than under torque. The reason being the nut/bolt is more likely to just fall out than break. Makes sense to me because if you look at break tests, the bolts will often deform a lot before breaking. It stands to reason that a bit of deformation from over torque won't then cause a catastrophic failure but rather non destructive deformation. The how not to Slackline guys did address this with pull tests (their best video IMO). this and found that the bolts held stronger if over torqued, so that's a brilliant result
