I'm glad I watched this video. I recently bought a total of 6 of these (2 Adenium Arabicums and 4 A. obesums) last spring of 2023 and it's now Nov. 23, 2023 (Thanksgiving day). They're all around 6" tall. They haven't dropped their leaves for the winter dormancy yet, but I expect it will probably happen before Christmas for sure, even though I'm in a solid subtropical climate of Lake Charles, LA. I hope to get them to bloom next spring, so I'll be watching more videos to make that happen. I don't even know what color they will be, so I'll just wait in anticipation. Thanks again, and happy gardening! 🪴🌵

I would like to have a desert rose, but heard you are not supposed to touch because they are poisonous. However, I see you touching and trimming. Where can I find accurate information on these beautiful plants?

When is the best time to prune them …right now our temp is 105 -110!!! Would I wait till it is cooler down to 60 as in Fall or spring? Thanks.

The best time to prune is just as they are beginning to grow again in late winter in early spring.

Are these plants sensitive to hard water? Mine was doing so well and then I was battling thrips and I watered in a systemic with water from the house. The leaves started yellowing at the tips and then turned dry brown.

I have a desert rose that is over five feet tall and has no caudex whatsoever. It rarely blooms, but it grows like crazy. Should I chop off a couple of feet? It's probably 6 or 7 years old.

You can prune it back relatively hard if it's that large. The fact that it doesn't have a cordex may be because it was rooted from a cutting.

Hi Really enjoyed your video. I'm inquiring about no blooms this year. Live in Canada and its now September..had previously pruned it in May/june. Do you think blooms will still appear this year? It's in a sunny location in my backyard.

It could flower, although it is getting late due to the shortening days and decrease in light intensity before going into winter.

Cuttings can be rooted, although it is not often very easy.
