Link in video description box is for Australian distributor. If you’re watching from another country, just search for “camera rain cover” on eBay. You’ll see there’s a lot like the one I have 📸🙏

From now on there is no doubt. They should call it better "rain and dust protection" instead just "rain protection" 🤣 i have to say, i don't like these protections for rain conditions. i rather use my cloth to protect my camera to get wet. but for dust protection low on the ground, it makes totally sense for lenses like that as you have shown. a great video, buddy! nice greetings, christian

Thanks for watching Christian. I am amazed how sand can get in while down low and the wind is blowing strongly. At least this is an inexpensive way to stop it. Just wanted to share it with everyone and hopefully it helps someone out from getting their lens in trouble. Have a great weekend buddy, cheers 📸🙏

I had this happen to my old fmount 14-24mm f/2.8 unfortunately. I find carrying a small "ace" bandage and a roll of gaffers tape in my kit does the trick as well to keep dust and sand out.

The zoom on the Sony 200-600 is all internal Adrian but I still protect mine with one of these (a Vangaurd one) Especially when photographing seals in November on extremely windy beaches as the sand gets everywhere! Nice tip mate👍👍

Yeah that is the awesome thing about that 200-600mm is the internal zoom and sharpness for the price too. If I was shooting Sony, no doubt I'd have that lens. Thanks for watching mate, enjoy your week ahead, cheers 🙏

Great idea Adrian My 70-300mm has a lovely little crunch to it when you move it in and out. I'm not sure I'll ever get the Florida out of it! In fact, I just need a whole new camera bag because, as much as I clean it, sand keeps showing up! But this is a great suggestion to use the inexpensive rain cover to help protect it from dust and sand! Always great information! Hope you tou are well and having a fantastic weekend!

Hello Adrian, I've watch lots of your videos and are great! and recently I decided to get a D850, I was wondering if you have a problem with exposure. I am having lots of over exposed pictures, very bright in simple situations using the metering modes the camera has. is this normal? Thanks
@adrianalfordphotography
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my videos. No that is not normal for the D850. It is impossible for me to say what is wrong without having the camera physically in front of me.

Thanks for answering, I was just wondering if it happens with yours, like if you expose to the 0 in the metering you get obviously bright pictures using the matrix metering

Absolutely Phil. This cheap cover has saved me so many times. I even used it once photographing lightning while I was in rain. Saved the lens big time. Have a great weekend over there, cheers 🙏

That's a great idea! I'd rather spend $15 on a lens protector like that, than hundreds on getting a lens serviced. Love the beach, but it is notorious for being windy.

After it happened to me a couple of times, I thought enough was enough. I use this when it's windy now and I'm down low to the ground shooting. Works well. Thanks for watching, cheers

Thanks Adrian, They also have disposable ones that you can keep in your bag for that time that you get aught in the rain. BTW, that time that you sand inside the zoom tube, did you have to send your lens to Nikon to have it cleaned?

Thanks for watching. I ended up taking the lens in and they fixed it for me. Cost a bit though. That's why I always use this cover now. Have a great weekend, cheers
